As we head into 2016, and people say, "out in the old and in with the new" there are some things that never change as a new year begins. There are the same old resolutions everyone vows to follow through with.
To work out every day.
The gyms will not be so packed that there's nowhere to half try your Pinterest workout. Even though the gym population will soon dwindle, it's still an annoyance.
To find themselves.
To go abroad, read more obscure books, go to more museums and art galleries. These people think they're way more complicated than they really are. This goal, while culturally enriching, is a goal to make yourself "more complicated" or hipster. You're not that complicated, get over it.
To eat healthier.
While this resolution can be truly positive, it's to be done in moderation. It's not wise to cut out a lot of something because weight loss doesn't happen over night. It's not something to do by making unhealthy lifestyle choices.
To sleep more.
Unless you're drastically altering your life, this won't be changing once school starts getting serious. Is sleep important? HECK YES! But you also need to change how you use your time and time management.
To save more money.
This one is actually really positive, but this again requires a reallocation of what you utilize your finances for. How you purchase your clothes, food and weekend excursions is really what counts. Saving money is good for your future, but it's going to take a lot of time.
To find love.
You don't control when or how you find a significant other. It's important to visualize a specific person as a boyfriend of girlfriend. Not just settling for the first person who comes along that can kind of fit the mold so you're not lonely.
I'm not trying to put down resolutions that people will make. All I'm saying is that people often forget is that these sort of changes involved other parts their lives. These a drastic life changes that are all for the better but take a lot of willpower. They are possible, but they require a new mindset and tools and reading up on the side effects these things can cause.
