When around others, whether at school or at work, there is always that one person that cannot stop fidgeting. It seems as if they have to make some sort of sound to disturb the silent room or else they'll explode. Here's a list of the most annoying sounds that grind the gears of everyone except the oblivious culprit.
1. Gum smacking

Please! Chew with your mouth closed. No one wants to see or hear the wad of gum in your mouth... Thanks.
2. Pen clicking

Goodness. Pen clicking drives me absolutely insane. I can't seem to handle it. In at least two of my classes, there is always that one kid that clicks their pen as if their life depends on it.
3. Foot tapping

This is by far one of my biggest pet peeves. If I wanted to hear your foot tapping, I'd go to tap dancing school. But even then, I'm sure they tap with a steady beat and not whatever you seem to be doing.
4. Being able to hear someone else's music

This one can go two ways. One: find a pair of headphones. They aren't that expensive, and I didn't sign up for a concert. Or two: Turn your music down! I see that you have headphones on but clearly you must want to lose hearing as I can hear your music from across the room. Please.
5. A squeaky mechanical pencil

WHY is your pencil so squeaky?? Mine works just fine, as does the rest of the class'. Either fix it or get a new one, please I'm begging you.
6. Coughing

Okay I know that coughing is a bodily function and everything but seriously if you need to cough seven times, maybe you're sick and shouldn't be here? Are you trying to get the rest of us sick? No thanks.
These six sounds are honestly the worst things to hear during school or work. If it weren't' for headphones (that aren't blasting my music), I'm sure I would've gone crazy with all of these sounds by now. You are either the culprit or the victim, and if you are apart of the former, please do the world a favor and stop. Sincerely, everyone.
