"You know what humanity's greatest creation has been? Music." -Chuck Shurley
Music. There's nothing much like it out there in the world. Chuck Shurley's right, it really is humanity's greatest creation.
You see, I suffer with a panic disorder. This means I live my life with extreme anxiety with the constant fear of having a panic attack at any given moment. Music has been the one thing that's gotten me through it, and because of one band, the person I am today is a lot more healthier than the person I was six months ago.
This past Saturday, the 22nd of October, I had the opportunity to see that band live, right in front of me. That band, I've written about them before. That band is Louden Swain.
"Baby there is no denying, I'm still alive and I'm still trying." -Louden Swain, "Reunion"
That's the song they opened with, Reunion. As soon as they started playing, I knew this was going to be a night I'd never forget. As soon as that line was sung, I made eye contact with the girl next to me as we sang along. That moment, that's something I'll never forget. I could see it in her face we we're both feeling the same thing. We're still alive, we're still here.
"The walls, barely hanging on, carry on and she waits for you."-Louden Swain, "She Waits"
She Waits is a powerful song with a powerful story behind it. Every time I heard about a Louden Swain concert, people always said, "She Waits. You need to see Rob Benedict sing that live. He's amazing and you'll never forget it." Well, people are right. I was lucky enough to participate in surprising the band with a sea of light up hearts during the song.
Shout out to @poptivist on twitter for organizing the light up hearts. I know the band really appreciated it.
"But as I lay in my hospital bed, there's not a moment I regret."- Louden Swain, "Amazing"
Amazing, performed live and in front of me. It's just so damn good, you need to watch it for yourself.

Music is life changing, and sometimes we're lucky enough to find that one group that flips that switch in our brains. Then we get the chance to see them live.
I said it before in my other Louden Swain article, but their one hell of a band, one hell of a group. Saturday night I got to see all the people that inspire me every single day right in front of me. (And afterwards, I even got to meet the band!)
"Stick around for just another day and help me, help you." -Louden Swain, "Help You"
The Saturday Night Special is a moment that I will never forget.
