To The Mom Who Defined Motherhood

To the mom who put her own life aside to enhance ours. To the mom who put aside her career and her dream job to give us the blessing of a childhood with a family around. To the mom who gave love unconditionally even when she was exhausted herself.

To the mom who always smiled and gave us her strength when we felt weak. To the mom who gave her children the knowledge and appreciation of nature. To the mom who gave her children experiences so they had memories to share with others.

To the mom who made family a priority so her children would be best friends. To the mom who showed her daughter the kind of woman to become, to the mom who showed us what a “role model” truly was.

To the mom who went back to school, to the mom who showed her children that hard work was worth it. To the mom who sacrificed so much so her family could have it all. To the mom who taught that inner beauty was more important than what was on the outside.

To the mom who encouraged her children in anything they decided to do. To the mom who knew what was best for her children and never budged no matter how much they complained. To the mom who protected her children.

To the mom who taught the value of honesty, respect and manners. To the mom who showed her children determination and gave them a love for learning. To the mom who also became coach.

To the mom who can hug and heal the deepest wounds. To the mom who has contagious laughter, to the mom who has happiness that fills a room to the surface. To the mom who showed her children faith, so they could find it within their life and themselves. To the mom who taught her children how to cook and take care of a house. To the mom who is only ever a phone call away.

To the mom who I could never thank enough. To the mom I love unconditionally. To the mom who showed me the path and guided me through, but let me find my own way.

To the mom who inspired me to be unique and love myself. To the mom who has never failed to listen. To the mom who shared her experiences so I could learn from her. To the mom who has shown me how to find the light in every dark moment.

To the mom who taught me to see the good within everyone. To the mom who taught me to have fun and find joy in the simplest of things. To the mom who taught me to be stubborn. To the mom who is an angel on earth.

To the mom whose goodbye still breaks my heart, even though we are never really apart. To the mom I want to give the world because that is what she gave me, thank you.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
