The Brief Philosophy of Absurdism.

The Meaning of Life is Absurd!

Have you ever been so confused with the meaning of life, you just feel lost and purposeless? I'm sure all of us have pondered this topic. Why are we here? How did we get here? What should I be doing with my life? These are all questions that are bothersome but they are all questions that we as humans have asked ourselves.

The philosophical view of Absurdism addresses this human dilemma in a way. Absurdism is the belief that human beings exist in a purposeless, chaotic universe. If we accept this reality whole heartedly, the whole dilemma of existence dissipates. If we live in the moment and accept the universe as it is, without worrying too much about the why's of life, a very blissful level of peace can be achieved. It's a hard end to get to, but it can be a beneficial way of thinking.

As humans, we do have the urge to always seek out new information and to keep learning. This is a healthy compulsion that we have, but sometimes it can be a little bit unnecessary. When it comes to one of the biggest questions of all, that of what is the purpose of life in general, it might do us better to not worry about it and just focus on living a life of love.

One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
