The Mandela Effect: Fact Or Fiction?

There has been a lot of talk a lot about the Mandela Effect recently. For those who do not know, the Mandela Effect is a conspiracy theory that we have entered a parallel dimension where small things have changed. The name is derived from Nelson Mandela, who people thought died back in the 80s but actually died in 2013. I myself first thought the idea was ridiculous when I heard it from a friend, but the evidence is pretty compelling.

1. Double stuffed oreos

A lot of people claim to remember Double Stuff oreos with two f's rather than one, but the proof is in the package- it's definitely only one f.

2. The Berenstain Bears

The Berenstain Bears was a popular children's book and television show, but a lot of people remember it as the BerenstEin Bears, with an E instead of an A.

3. Wite Out

Another misspelling, most remember this correcting fluid as White Out, but the h seems to have been a figment of everyone's imagination.

4. Curious George

Curious George is another children's book turned television show, but where is his tail? This famous monkey is often remembered by people with a tail, but in every book and show he is without one.

5. Febreze

This is a very well known air freshener only has one E, but why does everyone remember the spelling as "Febreeze"?

6. Mr. Monopoly

Most people have played the infamous game of Monopoly and are familiar with the iconic character, but many people think he is missing his infamous monocle- except that it apparently never existed.

7. "Momma always said life was like a box of chocolates"

Everyone knows this iconic line from the movie Forrest Gump, but there has been a lot of debate about the famous line- a lot of people remember it as "Life IS like a box of chocolates" rather than "Life WAS like a box of chocolates"

8. Magic Mirror on the wall

This is one of the most famous quotes from Disney's Snow White, but most people definitely remember the quote as "Mirror, mirror on the wall"

9. Froot Loops

This fruity cereal seems like it should be spelled as "Fruit Loops" and many people also claim to remember it being as such.

10. Looney Tunes

This is another popular children's television show, but seeing as it is a cartoon, many people (perhaps falsely) remember it as "Looney Toones"

11. Chick-Fil-A

This famous restaurant has been around for a while, serving delicious chicken and waffle fries. The debate around this one is that it was actually spelled "Chic-Fil-A."

Some of these might seem totally ridiculous, but this theory has a lot of people talking. I, for one, was astounded after looking into it to find that there were so many cases of people remembering things differently from how they actually are. There are many other cases that people have also noticed, ranging from Pokemon to Star Wars, so feel free to look more into it. You might be surprised by what you find!

Friendship. It's defined as the state of being attached to another person by feelings of affection or personal regard, but what really is friendship? Is it that occasional hallway talk with that one person who always manages to cheer you up? Is it that relationship you have with someone where they can be gone for a long period of time, but when they come back, it's like they never left? Is it spending every waking hour with someone, and knowing every detail about their life? Is it the relationship that's filled with fighting, but filled with even more resolution? I've learned that it's all of these things, and every friendship is different. It's a beautifully dysfunctional mess that should always be cherished and never be taken for granted.

cousins

I've known you your entire life. More than likely I held you in the first three days of it and at least one of us cried. Cousins are truly one of the best things in the world and while sometimes I complain about how many people crowd Grandma's living room on Christmas Eve, I wouldn't trade you all anything.

You are my best friends, the only people who can understand what it's like on Thanksgiving, and you are the spunkiest people I have ever met. But you as so so young, most of you are just now starting your adventures in the public education system. I mean, I'm so very young too. I'm not married, I don't have children, heck, I just started my adult life, but I do want to give you what little advice I have. My dears, these are the things I want you to know.
