A conspiracy theory is defined as an explanatory or speculative hypothesis suggesting that two or more persons, or an organization, have conspired to cause or cover up, through secret planning and deliberate action, an event or situation typically regarded as illegal or harmful. Over the past few days, I've become so interested in them and now believe in some of them. It all started with watching a Youtube video, and now I'm deeply into looking up and researching some of the most common and most believed examples of the Mandela Effect.
The Mandela effect is a theory of parallel universes, based on the idea of Nelson Mandela dying while in prison in the 80's, but that never happened even though thousands of people remember that as being true. Oddly, large groups of people have similar alternative memories about past events. Some people believe there is an alternative universe where people go back and change little things. Some examples of the Mandela Effect are below.
1. Bernstein Bears
When I was little, I would always read the book series of The Berenstein Bears. They were my favorite books to read. I clearly remember it being spelt as Berenstein with an "e". Now, if you look back at them, they're not Berenstein with an "e", but it's Berenstain with an "a", but something about it looks off. I know there used to be an "e" there and so do many others!
2. Star Wars
Everyone remembers the famous quote from Star Wars as "Luke I Am Your Father". It's written on T-shirts, posters, and so much more. But, if you go back and watch the scene, Darth Vader says "No, I am your father". Why would people continue to say "Luke I Am Your Father" if that's not the right quote?
3. Snow White
The famous and most known quote from Snow White is "Mirror Mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all". I used to say it all the time after I first saw the movie. Now, if you go back and watch the movie it is changed to " Magic mirror on the wall".
4. Curious George
While growing up, Curious George was always one of my favorite book and cartoon characters. I always remembered him having a tail. You could see it in the pictures and episodes. But now when I look at them, he doesn't have a tail.
5. Interview with a vampire
The famous movie "Interview with a Vampire" is actually called "Interview with the Vampire".
6. Sex in the city
The TV show "Sex in the C"ity has been around for years and is still on T.V. all the time. But, it's actually "Sex and the City". Something about it doesn't look or sound right at all.
7. Mister Roger's Neighborhood
When I was growing up, the T.V. show "Mister Roger's Neighborhood" was one of my favorite shows to watch. My favorite part was the opening song, "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood", but it's not actually "the neighborhood". Instead, it's " It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood".
