Tucked away in my memory,
Like the lone house surrounded by woods
Off the winding road of GC&P
That we all call home,
Are the memories I have
Of You,
An Ohio Valley Legend,
The man whose reputation stretched
through the rolling hills
From Bethany to Wheeling,
And perhaps,
Even Beyond.
You once parted the sea,
And now,
17 years gone,
The great man
Broken like the tide
Receded back into the ebb and pull
Of a monotonous routine,
Nestled within the valley,
With only dreams
Of returning to the sea…
