All we want in life is to love and to be loved. From the time we are born, we are taught to find something we love. We are infatuated with the idea of love. We are in love with love. Our world searches everywhere for love. We spend all of our time searching for love in people. We want to be accepted, and feel like we are a part of something. So what's wrong with searching and longing for love?
We are looking in all of the wrong places.
Time and time again, we look for acceptance and love in people and things of this world that are temporary. Each time that the satisfaction of the temporary pleasures of this world runs out, we are hurt. We get tired and run down. But today, I am going to tell you about a love that never runs out, never fails, and frees you from your past. This love that I'm talking about is not ordinary. This love is free, and it lasts forever. This love is better than anything on earth. It's secure, peaceful, uplifting, hopeful, graceful, unconditional, and most importantly, it was given to you and me.
This love comes from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who died for our sins so that we may have eternal life with Him. You can't have love without the cross. You can't have love if you don't know God. Why? Because God is Love. When you come to know God, you will know true love. The only way to have this love is to walk with Jesus. We are called to share this unfathomable love with everyone around us so that they may see Christ through us. Jesus has never failed us, and He won't start with you. Rest in His promise that's in Hebrews 13:5, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." I'm encouraging you to rejoice in this love that you don't have to earn. Romans 5:8 validates that we are loved by Him when it says, "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Jesus unconditionally loves us, which makes us beautiful and makes us new. God takes away all of our ugliness, and He makes us beautiful to match Christ. He is never done with you. He continually works in your life and loves you. Even when you may feel lonely or defeated, He is working on something better for you. In Isaiah 66:9, the Lord tells us that he won't allow pain and suffering without something new to be born. He always has what's best for you and me in mind. He will never lead us down the wrong path. No one can hinder God's plan for your life. If you follow Jesus and accept His love, His plan will ultimately prevail.
