Every day people are faced with obstacles. Some are much harder than others, but it seems as if when one obstacle is overcome, the next appears. Life is life, and challenges will be thrown at you from every angle. The only option you have is to conquer these challenges. My grandmother has taught my family many things, but her most important lesson was to keep your chin up. When life comes crashing down on you, there are many important things you must keep in mind in order to stay positive.

Remind yourself that everything is going to be just fine, even if you feel it to be impossible.

Be goofy. Sing your favorite song to remind yourself to be happy.

Find beauty in the little things.

Collect all the jingle shells you can find while watching the waves crash on your toes.

Pity those who doubt you.

Remember that there must be something wrong with them if they're trying to bring you down, so you have no choice but to feel bad for them.

Surround yourself with the people you love.

Never forget that family and friends will be there for you through everything.

Accept the fact that this is life, bad things happen and will continue to happen. Getting through these things will prove your strength.

There will always be a long road at the end of the tunnel.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
