You can do this.
Because the truth is:
High school is hard.
High school is full of drama that is easy to get sucked into.
High school can make the most genuine, and most established feel weak.
High school is not the best four years of your life and not everyone misses it. I know I don’t.
Not to say that it’s not important because it is.
High school teaches you lessons, and no, not just English, Science, Math and Social studies. High school teaches you about life. During these four years good or bad you learn important things about yourself, and others, you lose friends and may not gain new ones, you experience disappointment and judgment. You see people forming groups and wonder why you can’t be part of a group too. You see people hanging out on the weekends and hear whispers in class about the past weekend's shenanigans and you can’t help but feel lonely and wonder why you just can’t seem to fit in.
You get down on yourself and feel like the world is on your shoulders. I know, because I have been there and there is nothing in the world like the feeling of being left out. The feeling of every eye being on you as you sit alone in a crowded cafeteria, listening to laughter and gossip and wondering why you aren’t good enough to fit in. Why you don’t seem to have a place.
I know it’s not easy.
I know it feels impossible right now, but high school doesn’t just teach you academically, these things you are experiencing right now are making you stronger and someday when you graduate and see for yourself that high school really wasn’t meant to be the best four years of your life but a learning experience you will notice how much you really did learn and laugh at all of the things that you used to think were such a big deal.
Keep your head up, high school is not easy but there are resources to make it easier. I know that if it weren’t for a few great teachers and a school counselor high school would have been unbearable for me. Don’t let your loneliness consume you, let it be what brings you closer to your purpose and who you are.
