The Life That We Live

We are given this life for a reason and everyday we get to choose what to do with it.

I am a procrastinator. I will wait to do things until the last possible minute so I am notorious for saying "Yeah, I'll do it tomorrow." The thing about saying that is tomorrow is not promised. Life is so unexpected and has so many unexpected ups and downs. We always count on having a tomorrow but some people don't get that chance. Some people have plans for a tomorrow but that tomorrow never comes.

Everyone makes these plans because they think they have their whole life in front of them. Why would I do that know when I can do it when I get older? We do not even process that this life can be taken away so easily until something near death happens to us. Then it's like we went through this wake-up call where we start thinking we should live life to the fullest but don't actually do it. We have all these plans but life just seems to get in the way at every turn. We have rent and bills to pay, essays to write, jobs to work, responsibilities that we have to do, all these things that come with being an adult that we forget to enjoy life. We forget that life is a gift and it can be taken away with the snap of someone fingers. Sometimes when I'm driving on a green light and I see cars stopping because they see that their light is red sometimes I think about how easily they can end my life if they are in a rush and decide to run that light. People are so unpredictable and you have no idea what they are thinking at any time, so often our lives are in the hands of other people and we have to trust them enough to hope they don't do anything rash. We are making all these plans and sometimes we are never able to accomplish them.

We weren't put on this world to pay bills till we die. Many times money is an issue, some people do not have the means to travel the world like others but that does not mean you can't live the life you were given to the fullest. Take a deep breath and go for a walk and see the world that is around you. Get out of your own mind and your own problems. It is all about the bigger picture in life. You can change someone's day just by smiling at them. Not all of use get the same cards in life and so many times those cards are really horrendous. There is a lot of choices you can't make, but there is so many more that you can. You go to bed when you have a bad day and all you can hope is that it will get better tomorrow, but for some people, it doesn't. Some people do not get to even wake up. You have to acknowledge the good things that happen no matter how hard it could be. All the negativity in your life just leads you down a rabbit hole of problems.

We only get to live this life right now in this very moment once. We can't take it for granted so life it as best as you can.

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
