The Life of an ENFP

Here is just a snapshot of how my life has always been.

Extroverted. iNtuitive. Feeling. Perception. These are the words said to describe my personality type after I took the Myers-Briggs Personality Test. As I looked more into what it really means to have this personality, I was surprised by just how accurate the results were. If you know me well enough, then you will know just how accurate these 5 qualities of an ENFP are.

1. Though we are happy and cheery 99.9% of the time, we have our days.

Close ones will know that these "days" include shutting ourselves down and not talking to anyone. This is particularly true for myself, and it should be known that if this happens, ENFPs just need a few hours alone to de-stress.

2. We can be quiet extroverts.

I've generally always considered myself an extrovert. I love talking to people, getting to know them with real conversations, not just small talk. We thrive off of talking to those around us, but also are sure not to over-extend ourselves and become too emotionally attached. We talk to others and help them out as much as we can and don't want to burden others with our problems, hence being extroverted with others and talking with them, as well as being exceptional listeners.

3. We are natural leaders, but don't like to control people.

As someone who enjoyed doing extracurriculars in high school and still continues to participate in them through college, this characteristic is pretty accurate. I enjoyed being a part of those who were considered to be leaders in the community, but didn't enjoy having to control others as much, but did do it when necessary and needed.

4. We don't actually wear our hearts on our sleeves

Though we are known as a very emotional people, we don't really show all of our emotions. We're basically a mix between an open and closed book, as we don't show our real, true, or deeper emotions because we are so focused on others.

5. We hold onto everything.

We remember every situation, conversation, and moment that may have not been the best, or maybe it was the best. We are known as the bubbly people who help others no matter what, but we always hold onto our emotions, whether they are good or bad ones. Personally, I remember conversations and moments vividly, good ones, bad ones, or any inbetween (but mostly the ones where I'm laughing my butt off with my friends, those are the memorable ones).

So there it is. A deeper look into my personality type and helping explain the way my mind thinks. Extroverted, but introverted. iNtuitive with those around me. Feeling every single emotion out there. Perceiving what is going on around me and how I will affect the situation. I couldn't explain myself to others any better. Here's to my fellow ENFPs, keep helping those around you, but remember to take care of yourself. You are amazing human beings.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.
