The Life Of A Morning Person

We are the most hated people.

For some reason, many people dislike the ones who wake up at the early hours of the day and go to sleep before midnight strikes.

I am one of those “early-risers” or as many people call them “a morning person.”

I didn’t choose the “morning person life,” it chose me.

During the school year as a college student who prefers 8am’s, because I would rather get my classes started early and end my classes early, I wake up at 6am.

All my mornings started at 6am throughout my four years of high school. Now as a college student, my alarm goes off again at 6am.

Although some mornings I do complain because I would love to have another hour to sleep in, the truth is I love waking up early.

The Cons:

Although, I love being a morning person the worst part is I can barely stay up after midnight. Don’t invite me to watch Netflix after 11 o’clock at night because most likely I will fall asleep on your couch once you click the play button.

Also one of the worst parts of being a morning person is you wake up earlier than your family and friends, so you tend to get bored until they wake up.

Sadly, weekends are the same as weekdays. Although I tell myself that I will sleep in on Saturday’s and Sunday’s, it never really happens.

The Pros:

Coffee isn’t a necessity in my life but I still decide to have it as a supplement with my eggs in the morning, which is why breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. Once lunch rolls around, I am starving!

I love waking up when almost everyone else is asleep because I have time to myself.

I love starting my day early because I get things done faster and have more time during the day to accomplish my tasks.

While people are sleeping, I’ve already eaten breakfast, cleaned the house, and finished the errands.

If you envy morning people, remember they actually envy night owls because they can stay up all night like most people.

Morning people have an internal clock that wakes them up even when they have no alarm clock to do so. Once we are awake, we want to get our day started, although we have those days that we go back to sleep just for the heck of it.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
