In the past, we’ve seen news broadcasts about the clowns floating around in various parts of the country. However, they have made their way to Long Island and they’ve been the talk of the towns, literally, over the past week. The clowns have caused two schools to go into lock down because they were walking around the school vicinity. Many people say that they not real, it’s a hoax, and to think it’s comical. Yes that has happened in the past, but this time it is a nightmare come true.
It has been floating around social media that the clowns are posting their prowling schedules for each night. I was curious and searched for these accounts. There are numerous accounts for these clowns making their way around Long Island and they all have different schedules. I understand the argument that it’s all a hoax, but there have been arrests made in many different towns. This situation is not funny and should be taken very seriously. The clowns hide in wooded areas at night and then jump out in front of the cars that drive by. This is not a situation to laugh about. Whether the clowns are messing around or seriously trying to harm people, it could easily back fire.
When someone appears suddenly in front of a car the driver becomes alarmed and tries to avoid it. The driver of the car could swerve out of the way and hit a tree, a parked car, or run up a curb and get stuck. But sometimes we see that if something or someone jumps in front of a car, the driver cannot stop or avoid it in time. Sadly people and animals get run over by cars all too often. The clown could get hit and seriously injured even if they were trying to be funny.
It has been reported that some of the clowns have weapons. I don’t find that funny at all. I have seen articles and notifications on the internet that the clowns are threatening teenagers with a knife. These are situations in which law enforcement needs to be contacted. Some people follow and run after the clowns. Some yell at them, but if seen, the clowns need to be avoided and law enforcement has to be notified. Some of the clowns are teenagers trying to be funny, but you never know who is hiding behind the mask.
