College is by no means easy- but the end of the semester can be especially stressful. It seems like the last few weeks of the fall semester is a mad dash to get through finals and on to the holidays. Here is an accurate depiction of what happens during the last three weeks of the semester. I hope all of you college students out there make it through another successful semester- and may the odds be ever in your favor.

1. You come back from Thanksgiving break feeling like those few days off were just a tease.

2. And you know the worst few weeks ahead are what stands between you and Christmas break.

It's fine. Everything is fine.

3. So you do everything you can to remain positive.

4. You begin to realize that your planner is the one key to your survival through finals, so you begin to write your life down.

GIPHY

Hmm. According to my planner I have just enough time to fit in another writer's block on this paper before the next mental breakdown.

5. You realize that you have approximately 5 tests, 4 papers, 3 presentations, 2 anxiety attacks and a partridge in a pear tree to complete- and that's all BEFORE you even get to finals week.

6. The hours seems like an eternity as your eyes glaze over each new study guide, and you wonder if Christmas break actually exists.

7. Somehow you make it through those giant assignments and tests, and you have a new outlook on life.

GIPHY

I'd like to thank my bed for always loving and supporting me, even though we haven't seen each other for a long time.

8. But then it hits you.

Oh CRAP....

9. Finals. You still have finals.

GIPHY

Well, there went any sanity I had left.

10. You collect yourself, and try and smile through the pain.

GIPHY

11. As Finals race closer, you try to balance studying with a little Christmas cheer.

GIPHY

12. On the eve of Finals week, you find yourself torn between feeling confident and feeling like a total failure.

GIPHY

No amount of coffee can save me now. Either I know it or I don't.

13. You walk into the first final, resembling your best attempt of being a functional human, ready to stare the test in the face and give it your best shot.

GIPHY

14. ...That wasn't as bad as I thought...

GIPHY

15. You get your grades back:

Maybe I won't fail out of school after all...

Congratulations, you have successfully completed another semester of college. Now, go home and relax, celebrate the holidays and enjoy your families... because in about a month we will have to come back and do it all over again! .... #college. Happy Finals!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
