Not Just Another School Year, The LAST School Year

To the seniors in college, not ready for it to end… yet excited for what's yet to come.

Not Just Another School Year, The LAST School Year

So here it is. Here's what it has come down to. This is what I have dedicated all my attention, time, heart, money and soul to. School. My education. College, high school, middle school, elementary. Well, you know… all of that.

Like seriously guys; can someone please describe to me what it is like living life and not being in school. Geez, must be nice. I can only imagine the eliminated stress, making life that much nicer. Part of me can't wait to be done. Half of me can't wait to be completely done with school and everything that comes along with it.

But then again, part of me doesn't want it to end. It's true, college really is the best couple years of your life. (At least so far… speaking from experience). I can see why some people do not get upset about graduating later than their original plan… I mean, we really are living the life right now. No matter how broke we might be. The other half of me does not want the college lifestyle to end.

College is a different type of world compared to the "normal" lives that everyone else under the sun lives. We run on short hours of sleep, demanding class schedules, many projects and readings assigned, student clubs and we can't forget about work. Because how else would we pay for the school bills and rent each month?

Coming from the girl starting her last year of school, I can actually say I'm going to miss this. I mean yeah, those 8 A.M.'s suck, and walking across campus in the rain is no fun… but it's all worth it. The end goal, to receive a degree, is far more important to reach than to quit due to temporary pain and struggles. The occasional fun stuff also seems to make up for it, too.

This is the year that is full of lasts. It's going to be the last football season, last basketball season, last cafeteria meals consumed, last of the school bills (thank the Lord), last time walking across campus, last time purchasing a textbook, last time taking an exam. It will all come to an end once the school year winds down in May. I'll miss it, but I could not be more excited.

Now, honestly… who knew that I would enjoy going to class so much towards the end of my schooling? Because I sure didn't. Being a senior comes along with many perks, and one of those perks is choosing classes you will enjoy because this is what you are focusing the rest of your life on. Not to state the obvious or anything but what you study in college sets the tone for your life outside of school.

I'd like to think I'm ready for the "real world"... or the world outside of school. Only time will tell, let's all pray for a good future why don't we? I mean, I'll only be 22 once I graduate, the world is full of endless possibilities.

On that note… I'll *virtually* see you all next week. XOXO.

Peace and Blessings,

Kayla Jean Brady

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

The holiday season is full of stress, debt, and forced conversation. While we rush through the month of December, it's important to take a step back and enjoy the moments before they're gone. Most families love to watch Christmas movies, but these beloved films provide more than entertainment. Here are 10 life lessons that I've learned from the holiday classics we watch every year.

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
