Spring break is a time to be adventurous or just relax with friends. If you’re in high school it might be a two-week break, maybe one. If you’re in college, you have a week to yourself. You are able to recuperate and enjoy the changing weather and blooming flowers.

But then, the dreaded day comes. You are forced to return to school and find the drive to get through the final months. So how do we do this? Where does the initiative come from to get through the last push? Well, it comes from within us. We are all able to do it. However, here are some recommendations to make classes fly by.

Study Outside

Make sure you take the time to enjoy the changing weather. Allow yourself to enjoy the sunshine and blossoming flowers.

Take Breaks

It is important to get your work and errands done, but it is also important to make sure you take time for yourself. If you constantly push yourself, you will burn out.

Sleep

You cannot do anything, unless you are getting a goodnights rest. So, make sure that you are getting 7 - 9 hours of sleep a night. Try to shut off electronics before bed so that they aren't keeping you awake.

If Sleep is not Happening, Resort to Naps!

As I said before, you cannot function without sleep. Constantly trying to force yourself to chug along will only work for so long. Taking a 20-minute power nap might be your best bet when you are lagging.

Try New Food

We are all getting sick of the same food we are surround by. Be adventurous and try some new restaurants or food places you have never been to. Maybe a food truck will tickle your fancy…

Adventure

Be adventurous! Go out and do something fun. Get outside of your comfort zone and try something new.

Spend Time with Friends

As the semester is coming to a close, try and treasure the time you have with your friends. People will go abroad next year and you will be apart over the summer. So make sure you take the time to hang out with your friends.

Spring has Sprung so Eat Some Fruit

Fruit is now in season and it’s the time to binge as much as you want. Fruit is as ripe as it will ever be, so eat eat eat!

Treat Yourself

Whether you want to treat yourself to a movie or a mani pedi, make sure that you are taking the time to focus on yourself. We tend to try and chug along until it breaks us. Make sure you take a moment to yourself and do something solely to treat yourself.

Go for a Walk

Don't just be outside when you are studying, but make sure you savor the outdoors on their own. Spring is a time where new life is starting to grow and be born. It's a beautiful time of the year and we should all try to experience it.

Have a Picnic

This is a great way to incorporate food, the outdoors, and friends. You can have a killer barbecue, a spread of salads and sandwiches, or just pick up food from your favorite place. Either way, this is a great way to spend a morning, afternoon, or weekend.

Make sure you take the time to recuperate even though you're back at school. None of us can constantly be pushing ourselves past our breaking points, that will only end in our own destruction. Take the time out of your day to rest, relax, and treat yourself. Whatever that might mean for you, please take care of yourself and beat these last weeks of school. We've all got this and we can do it!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
