To those who either haven't heard of The Knights of Columbus, or even have heard of it, but have little to no idea of what is or what they do, I'll tell you. The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal benefits society whose origins go back to when Irish and Italian Catholic immigrants were unjustly discriminated against for their faith, but also their ethnic heritage. The Knights of Columbus has been an Organization devoutly faithful towards the defense of civil and human rights, and protecting the dignity of every human being, from conception to natural death. We do a lot of Pro-Life efforts, Habitat for Humanity, and even helping to send our wounded warriors to Lourdes France for spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental healing. Most recently The Knights have been involved in bringing awareness and financial aid to the Coptic and Chaldean Christians who are being systematically slaughtered on the altar of Islam. This egregious violation of human rights has been recently declared a genocide by the former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry. Lastly to those who still think that The Knights are some "Catholic Freemasonry" who are trying to conquer the globe in some worldwide conspiracy. I might add that their number one enemy was The Klan, and the KKK also had Freemasonic bodies publish smear campaigns against the Knights and other fellow Catholics who supported them. The Knights of Columbus is also the platform the Kennedy's used to create and popularize the Special Olympics, and the reason for that was that just about all the Kennedy boys were Knights, including John F. Kennedy himself, and he such an influential member that there are several councils and assemblies named after him withing the organization. my final end point is that The Knight of Columbus is a wonderful organization who plays a very active role in our communities, and is very active within The Catholic Church, it has very distinguished members including a former U.S. President, and even a Former U.S Senator, and it has been a very active defender of civil rights, and a great contributor in the betterment of our rich American Society. So to all those who are Catholic, but who have been hesitant on joining, I encourage you to find a council and ask to join, as we are always looking for new knights.
I end this off with a quote from the bible quote... St. Matthew 31 And when the Son of man shall come in his majesty, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit upon the seat of his majesty. 32 And all nations shall be gathered together before him, and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left.
34Then shall the king say to them that shall be on his right hand: Come, ye blessed of my Father, possess you the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35For I was hungry, and you gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me to drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in: 36Naked, and you covered me: sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me. 37Then shall the just answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry, and fed thee; thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38And when did we see thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and covered thee? 39Or when did we see thee sick or in prison, and came to thee? 40And the king answering, shall say to them: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to me.
41 Then he shall say to them also that shall be on his left hand: Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry, and you gave me not to eat: I was thirsty, and you gave me not to drink. 43 I was a stranger, and you took me not in: naked, and you covered me not: sick and in prison, and you did not visit me. 44 Then they also shall answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to thee? 45 Then he shall answer them, saying: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it not to one of these least, neither did you do it to me. 46 And these shall go into everlasting punishment: but the just, into life everlasting.
