The Key To A Better Life

Every single one of us deserves a life we love, and that is where you come in.

The key to a better life is simple: just do it. Nobody is going to hand you the magic key and hold your hand as you unlock the door. Whether you are struggling to make it or passing by with no problem, you have to be able to make it through on your own.

Self-pity is just a dead-end road that you do not want to end up on.

It is your choice: do you want to drive down it and stay parked or find your next possible route? Yeah, you will have your losses and sorrows, but you have to rise above them and make good of every situation.

"Maybe you have to know the darkness before you can appreciate the light."
Madeleine L'Engle

Whether the glass is half full or half empty, it is still a glass of water and you can either hold onto that weight or put it down. Although acceptance can be a small and quiet room, it is important.

Your mind and the way you process your thoughts affects everything, and I mean everything.

If you find yourself going into a situation with a negative attitude, odds are, the experience itself will have a negative impact on your life. Clear your mind of any doubts you might have and be optimistic. Focus on what matters most and forget about what is insignificant. Pay attention to those who stand by your side; stand by theirs as well. Tell yourself you can be the best person you can be.

Let's teach ourselves how to be truly grateful.

We, as humans, have been given so much in life, that we do not give enough appreciation to. We tend to ask ourselves what do we want, what do we desire, and what interests us; but we forget to look at what we already have. We wake up everyday breathing; breathing not only for ourselves, but also for those who have passed. So, why take advantage of that when we should be cherishing it.

Some of the things we take for granted, someone else may be wishing for.

Lastly, be thankful that you are fearful.

The presence of fear is your indication that you are doing what you need to do, that you are taking risks. Dream big and believe. You have the world at your finger tips, whether you are six or 60. So, take that job opportunity across the country, go on that date, travel the world, or talk to the new kid in class. What do you have to lose? Nothing. If anything, you will only be gaining something.

The people who do not give up, are the people who find a way to believe in abundance rather than scarcity that success will manifest itself in different ways for different individuals.

You came here looking for the loophole to a better life; but the truth is, there is none. It is all in your hands. You will be the one to create the best life for yourself because you know yourself better than anyone else.

Be the captain of your own ship.

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
