Everyone I know is either getting married or having babies and I am over here like "Hi I'm obsessed with my dogs and drink wine". I never imagined how much love I could have for my pets until I came across my two blessings. There is never a dull moment when I am around my dogs whether they are play fighting, chasing their tail or snuggling up to me and being super cute. I know you other doggy parents have the same joys as the rest of us so why not share them with other who don't have what we have?

1. Being able to come home after a long stressful day and being greeted at the sound of your car door shutting. Its such a good feeling when you see their little tails wagging and the excitement on their faces when they see you for the first time all day since you left. It makes my heart melt when my pups get excited to see me.

2. They teach you to be less self-centered. You now know (sorta) what it's like to be a parent and know when its time to put them in front of yourself. Just because you wanted to sleep in doesn't mean you can because your little buds need to go out and eat in the morning. Their needs become one of the most important things to you.

3. Catching those funny moments give you something to laugh about and tell your friends about. Like I mentioned before about them chasing their tail or jumping so high they wiggle all the way down and wipeout before they can catch themselves. These moments are so joyous and give us a good giggle.

4. Watching them make other pup friends is also a perk. Knowing that they can have playdates means more fun for you and your friends with dogs too because everyone can have a good time. The dogs can tire each other out and you and your friends can enjoy that bottle of wine or cooking dinner together.

5. Its a terrible feeling whenever you have to leave to go to class, work or places don't allow dogs and you really wanted that marg with your friends and have leave your pups behind but when you come home and NOTHING has been torn to shreds or their were no accidents... Its the BEST feeling ever.

There is also the perk of having something to be obsessed with that no one can really judge you for because I mean look at their faces, who could do that? My pups have only been in my life for a little bit but I find myself spoiling them more than I spoil myself, looking for dog accessories or toys more than for things for myself and even talking about them more in normal everyday conversations. I love being a dog parent and everyone should enjoy it too!

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
