Absence of Alternatives

OK, before you completely tune me out automatically because you're not into politics or whatever reason, just know that this applies to you. Whether you identify as a Republican, Democrat, independent or you just vote how your parents vote, this article is for you.

See, many of us only know things about political candidates from what we see on Twitter, which is cool and fine, but most of us don't really consider the fact that who becomes our president could influence us, the millennials, more than anyone else in the country. Our upcoming president has the potential to be leading our country for eight years. Eight years is approximately around the time that most of us will have our careers and families either beginning or already underway. See how it's actually important that we contribute our vote? Basically, when we graduate college, or maybe even before then, we're going to start complaining. We will start to complain about how certain policies tamper with how we want our lives to be. But wait, did you vote? If not, do you have any right to complain?

Now trust me when I say that I understand why many people don't feel like they need to vote. First of all, many people don't see a point in it. They don't think their tiny little vote in a sea of millions will make any difference. Well, if everyone thought that way, then you get the point. Another reason is because they honestly don't have a candidate they like (welcome to the year 2016)! But seriously, whether you dislike them both, you have to look at which candidate stands for what you stand for. We should all stand for something! I think someone famous once said, "If you don't stand for anything, you'll fall for everything," or maybe not, but it sounds good. Anyway, align your morals and beliefs with a candidate and take a leap of faith and vote this year.

In our opinions, we live in the greatest countries in the world, am I right? Let's exercise every right we have. Let's take part in democracy and voice our opinions. We may all have very different opinions on rights and policies, but you know what, that's the beauty of it all. See, we all have one thing in common. We want America to be the best it can be for us and for the ones who will come after us. We all have an opinion on something, whether it's gun control, taxes, education, immigration, the list goes on all day! Take your stance, and don't just tweet about it, vote on it. What's pretty cool is that we're all entitled to that. None of us have to agree, but what we should do is respect all opinions. After all, God didn't design us all to have the same thoughts with the same brain.

I really hope that reading this will help encourage you to get out and vote this year. If nothing else, just be a part of good 'ole democracy. Who knows, you may make more of an impact than you think. So, whether you want to "Make America Great Again" or if "You're With Her," or if you think they're both awful (one has to be a little less awful) fill out that ballot and know that you contributed. Register and vote. It's simple! Plus, you get a cool sticker to take a selfie in.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
