In school you are always going to have those people who are all about school spirit and those who could care less. This leads to some arguments and often ruins part of the fun for most.

People with spirit want to have fun and live a carefree week. Fun things are usually happening and majority of people want to be involved with these once in a life time experiences. The events range from something mild such as wear your school colors day, to something extreme such as Meredith College's cornhuskin'. Enjoy the fun while it last because once this chance is gone its gone.

Now as for those people who don't really have any school spirit, try to find some. It may not be your thing because you were raised in a calm environment, but it is a ton of fun to cut up and let loose. Trust me, do it while you can because this chance and opportunity will be gone faster than you know it. And in addition, when you are a person who dosent get involved, you are ruining the fun for everyone else and they will be mad at you or shun you till the festivities are over.

School spirit is so important when you are young. No matter who you, you need school spirit to enjoy life. Take it from me. A quiet girl who doesn't talk much at all. I have learned to participate as much as possible to ensure that I have a little fun during my school year. Powderpuff football is one of the many things I have done in my school career to enjoy life, and I am planning on continuing to be involved as much as possible before I graduate.

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
