Anyone who knows me knows how obsessed I am with my agenda, making lists and using the two to help me stay organized. Really. My agenda is my favorite thing in the world. I love making it pretty, color-coded and completely organized to help me plan a week ahead, month ahead or essentially what ever is necessary. I've tried all different kinds of planners. My favorite is the Erin Condren Life Planner, but right now I'm trying out a Moleskin planner, which I love as well.
As a college student, it's so easy to get overwhelmed with assignments and tests, and it's honestly easy to forget about some. Having my planner organized and up-to-date really helps me stay on top of my assignments, and it reduces my stress levels as much as it can. I also keep a random notebook to write my to-do list for each day; that way, I can cross off all of my tasks and make sure I'm not forgetting anything.
First — here is my color coding key. I use "Staedtler" pens, which come with a billion colors. So, I use certain colors for certain activities, shown here:
Second, on the Thursday of each week, I plan out my next week according to my syllabuses and internship schedule, following that color code.
I love the fact that I have a non-messy agenda. It may be a lot of colors, but it helps me prioritize things by importance, and as you can see my next week is crazy, so I am mainly focusing on everything in the turquoise color, as it represents tests and important grades.
My Moleskin planner is unique, as in the whole right page is filled with blank lines. That way, I can write mini notes and reminders there that don't necessarily belong under specific dates, such as random things I would like to accomplish in that week. Example here:
Basically, all of these elements help me keep my life together and keep me less stressed in my crazy senior year of college. I think that having an agenda is super important and beneficial to someone in any walk of life. So, find your style and get started to see how it can benefit you!
