Resume Building

Your resume is a look into your life. Career centers can help you build resumes that will help you be good reflections of you.

Cover Letters

Cover letters are a good way to express what you haven't been able to in your resume. They allow you to describe things in greater detail or things that don't fit on your resume. Cover letters should be specifically tailored to the position you are applying for. Chances are your school has a specific template for this.

Networking

Most career centers have multiple different networking events including job fairs. They allow you to speak with potential employees and make good impressions that aren't just on paper. It's good to build relationships with employers and stay in touch, even if it's for years.

Alumni

Most schools have strong alumni networks that career centers keep track of. There are many alumni out there that may have the types of jobs you are looking for. Alumni are usually very excited to speak with current students and eager to share their career journeys. Don't be afraid to reach out to them.

Career Counselors have Great Connections

Career counselors have spoken to so many people in their lifetimes and throughout their careers. Some alumni may feel that they owe them or just really appreciate them and want to pay it forward. Speak to your career counselors. They are there to help you and know the best ways to help you get what you want!
