The Importance Of Coffee Dates

Now you’re not sure why coffee dates are depleting and being replaced with random touch and random lust on late nights when we feel alone. It’s so sad to see such a great thing go.

The feeling of warm coffee flowing through your body when you feel restless; think about it. Can you feel it?

You’re sitting at your favorite coffee shop and you see who you’re waiting for through the front window. They’re smiling and you realize it’s because they see you too.

The feeling of warm, easy, meaningful conversation coming from someone who grasps your attention tighter than you’re grasping the coffee mug between your fingers; now, think about that, can you picture it?

It’s strange that those two feelings are so similar. The way your body warms from head to toe so quickly, and the way you feel like you need more in its absence because it has a way of fixing things.

Imagine being given a love letter and feeling the words so deep that you confused the feeling of it with that warm coffee going through your body and you’re looking for your mug; then you realize you never even made coffee.

Every morning you brew coffee, the smell of the mixture of espresso and caramel used to remind you of the hard day ahead but now it is replaced with the attributes of that person.

You’re grasping your favorite mug tightly and you aren’t thinking about burning your hands, all you can think about is how perfectly your hands might fit with theirs.

Until now you’ve always questioned someone’s interest for you. You can’t see the intimacy in someone’s eyes through a text received at two in the morning; it’s not there. You can’t feel someone’s appreciation when they swipe right for you on Tinder; it’s not the same. You say you know someone because their social media is in your recently viewed and they are your best friend on Snapchat. Do you really know them, though?

Your orange sweater is the topic of conversation because it brings out your eyes and makes them so hard to not get lost in. They’ve learned your favorite coffee and they go out of their way to never forget it. A slow song comes on and you mention how you love the band, and now they’re asking your favorite song.

Their interest in knowing the little things amazes you because you’ve confused a late night, “You awake?” text for care and you had no idea how much more there is to actually feeling wanted.

Now you’re not sure why coffee dates are depleting and being replaced with random touch and random lust on late nights when we feel alone. It’s so sad to see such a great thing go.

When you’re alone now you go to the kitchen and brew your coffee and let the smell remind you of who you miss, and while you’re drinking it, you are relieved from the craving of that warm, tingly feeling.

an image of taylor swift standing center stage surrounded by her backup dancers in elegant peacock esque outfits with a backdrop of clouds and a box rising above the stage the image captures the vibrant aesthetics and energy of her performance during the lover era of her eras tour

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
