Awestruck is the scholarly scientists of alchemy,

As they stare at the bodacious phoenix swiftly and gracefully flying in a single swoop.

They are in denial as they were about the electric eel,

As if it were a comical depiction resulting from possibly immature insanity;

That would certainly leave a lacuna without any increments in their meticulous reports.

Their fanatical concern is whether or not the creature is affable around humans.

Perhaps the legend of the immortal phoenix would always remain a mystery

To those who don't choose to truly believe.

Unfortunately, this divergent species only appears to those who have given up and least expect it,

Which may come across as an ironic burden,

But newfound inspiration will forever be famished and will never achieve satisfaction.

Its identity will always be impossible to define,

At least according to the ignorant.
