Perfection?
What really is perfection?
By definition perfection is the condition, state, or quality of being free or as free as possible from all flaws or defects.
If that's the case then you have to dive deeper than the definition of perfection. Define flaws. Flaws: a mark, fault, or other imperfection that mars a substance or object.
Define fault: Fault: an unattractive or unsatisfactory feature, especially in a piece of work or in a person's character.
The further you go with the definitions the further you get away from a solid idea of what perfection really is. I mean, really? Perfection is the scale in which people judge themselves on is if they are items waiting to be sold. Items can't hold the idea of self-worth. People can but it seems like every day that is trying to be stripped away from us. Take a car, for example, most everyone owns one or at least has one in mind they want, so think about that one you've always wanted to drive. Got one in mind? A Mustang? Charger? or maybe something like a small little VW Bug? That's your dream car. To you, it's exactly what you want. You might even say it's perfect. The exact color you want even has a nice stereo system in it too. Thing is, not everyone thought of the same car. This I know for a fact. My dream car, the car I had always wanted was a 1965 Chevrolet Impala. I'll give you all a minute to google what it looks like.... Alright, that's my dream car. I wanted it Purple with a nice stereo and all. I own one now and to me that car is perfect. Some people don't like the color, though, it's not what they like. Or maybe the don't like how long it is. They'd prefer something smaller, more sporty.
If you take that idea and apply it to people, you start to get the picture. Not everyone thinks of the same people when they think of their "perfect" husband or wife. But does that mean one person is wrong for thinking what they want is unattractive or unsatisfactory? Has faults and imperfections? Not in the least bit because everyone is beautiful and perfect in their own way. Everyone is beautiful to someone and hopefully one day everyone can view themselves as beautiful and perfect but until society stops with their standard of beauty to sell their own products for their own person gains it will not happen.
I see beautiful people every day put on makeup, starve themselves, and spend money that they don't have to try and impress people don't care anyways to try to cover up the fact they are insecure about themselves but none of them really take the time to look at why they feel that way. It's what's been instilled in us since we were kids from commercials, billboards, and the people around us. The idea of one single thing being the epitome of this word perfection does not exist.
It's unfair for people to have to feel inadequate because of others people's mindset. Go out and tell someone they're beautiful, that you like what they're wearing, or compliment them on their character. Just one simple compliment can make someone entire day and can make them love themselves just a little more.
Perfection is a myth.
