7. I stopped getting awful blisters on my feet from walking around campus.

8. I got tired of eating the dining hall's food.

9. I stopped caring about the freshman 15.

10. I ate Chick-Fil-A 4 times in a week.

11. I had three fire drills and forgot to put on a bra during one of them.

12. I got involved with a awesome church and small group.

13. I spent too much money on clothes and slowly realized that I am a broke college student.

15. I had my first mental breakdown and called my family for help. Thanks, guys.

16. I had my first college presentation and killed it (in a good way).

17. I overslept for one class and had to walk in looking like death. Thanks to my roomie for waking me up, so I wouldn't miss it.

19. I went back to my hometown for the first time in six weeks and hugged my pup really tight (also my family).

20. I voted in my first election. A moment of silence, please.

21. I saw a couple get engaged on campus. I cried.

22. My bank account went into a negative amount.

23. I drove on the interstate in the dark for the first time and nearly peed my pants.

24. I watched my roommate fall off her bed and spill coffee all over our dorm room.

25. I put on a fashion show for an English presentation.

26. I watched too many episodes of Grey's Anatomy.

27. I turned 19.

28. I went five days without washing my hair.

29. I bookmarked ratemyprofessor.com. Never going to make that mistake again.

30. I met two friends with the same name as me.

31. I got to dress up as Elle Woods and walk around campus for my fashion class.

32. I got sick and lost my voice. Worst week for me. Best week for my roommate.

33. I wrote many fun articles for Odyssey, and you should, too!

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week.
