When I first started at Panera a year ago, I loved it. I loved coming in, I would offer to stay longer. A couple of months in, I started to not like going in.
The drama at work was like I was back in high school.
The manager was terrible.
We were understaffed, constantly running out of things. It started to stress me out.
I would cry at work or have panic attacks before coming in because I would sit there thinking about all the stress I would have to deal with.
It was hell. My manager that was there when I started left and we got a new general manager. For while things were better.
But honestly, no matter the manager, it will always be, in my honest opinion, the worst but best place to work.
You never stop. You constantly have something to do.
If you're looking for a lazy job, don't try to work at Panera... But it also is great at times. The days are so busy they go fast. You gain friends and also enemies.
You learn the regulars orders and have that connection - it's great. The connections you gain at Panera are amazing. But the work you have to put in to see the beauty of the job is hard.
I have seen so many people come and go from Panera and I don't blame them. I would have run a long time ago but I found the beauty in working in this terrible place.
So, even though it's the worst place to work, it also is the best.
