"The future we hold is so unclear" -Selena Gomez. Her song "The Heart Wants What It Wants" is a song that many people can relate to. It's about a breakup and how everyone around is trying to tell you to basically move on and let go. In the end, though, it's not what you want. The song literally explains a walk through a tough break up.
"Save your advice cause I won't hear
You might be right but I don't care"
The people who see you hurting are obviously going to tell you that you deserve better and need to let them go. If you deep down though know that person is what you want, you're most likely just going to disregard advice that is given.
"The bed's getting cold and you're not here"
Sleeping alone is the worst once you're so used to going to bed and waking up next to one specific person all the time. Get some extra pillows or stuff animals instead. They won't hurt you.
"There's a million reasons why I should give you up"
True, but no matter how much bad or wrong someone does you can't give them up fully if you love them. You may be able to no longer talk to them or see them, but you're always going to think of them and wonder "what if?"
"You got me scattered in pieces
Shining like stars and screaming
Lightning me up like Venus
But then you disappear and make me wait"
This part of the song has such a deep meaning but you really have to listen to it. This is one of the million reasons why to give them up, they break you. They'll lift you up and make you feel amazing, then turn around and destroy you.
"I'm not alive until you call"
Depending on them to make you fee good and happy isn't healthy. If they really wanted you, they wouldn't just call, they would be with you.
"This is a modern fairy tale
No happy endings"
It may feel like the end of the world, but it's not. Yes, a lot of relationships now don't really last, but that might just be because there's better out there.
"The heart wants what it wants"
Do what will make you happy and focus on yourself. Don't let people manipulate you or tell you how to be. Follow your heart and do what's best for you.
