It is safe to say that most pet owners feel a special bond with their animal companions. They are always there to comfort you, listen to you, and console you when you are down. However, their ability to help people goes much further than emotional support. There are multiple cases where pets have helped people with physical illnesses such as dogs detecting cancer and even seizures. Another fact is, animals have also been able to help people cope with emotional troubles like depression and anxiety. Also pets have improved the quality of life for many people living in nursing homes.
I personally do believe that animals do have healing powers. I am a proud pet owner of three dogs, and one of those three was actually a stray that my family took in. There are many things that animals do that most people don't do. Such as they accept you for who you are, they listen to you even though they can't talk back, they comfort you and most of all they always know to cheer us up.
Animals are always there for you.
Our furry little friends are always there. They are always patiently waiting for when you come back from work or school. Since I am in college, seeing my 3 dogs waiting at the door never gets old.
Animals know how to make us laugh.
We have all been there. There was always that one moment where your pet has done something either super cute or super funny. Trust me I have seen too many cute and funny things that my dogs have done.
Animals always make people happy.
Whether we be sad, stressed or even in the hospital or even a nursing home, animals can always put a smile on our faces. At my college, they actually allow therapy dogs to come to campus for day, it is usually during finals week when the majority are beyond stressed.
I personally just look at a dog or any animal and I instantly have smile on my face. But there is nothing a slobbery kiss can't fix.
Animals know how to comfort us.
Our pets definitely know when we had rough day. They can instantly see that we are upset. This is actually a picture of one of my dogs. Our pets always know what to do, whether it be giving you a kiss or having cuddle sessions.
Animals have many healing powers. But what we don't notice is that animals and humans actually heal each other. When you adopt an animals sometimes that animals can be coming from a bad environment and maybe even you are feeling lonely and need a companion. You have given that animal a second chance at a better life and you have also created a better life for yourself as well.
Animals heal us in so many ways. Whether it be a therapy animal or pet, all animals have a secret healing power.
