The Gym As Told By HIMYM

It's a new year! Time for that "new year, new me" runaround. And for me, like many others, this meant finally buckling down and getting a gym membership (and actually using it). My first week at the gym is almost complete (yes, I actually went and no, I don't regret it)! Here are some "first trip to the gym" thoughts.

1. This isn't so bad.

I walk in and there are bowls of tootsie rolls just chilling around. It's like a little reward for attempting not to be a fat-a**.

2. What is that guy doing?

I could swear I saw a guy there lifting weights as heavy as my truck. *looks at skinny arms and wonders how anyone can lift that much*

3. Is that dude actually wearing jeans?

I may be a little competitive but if I'm over here working out in capris, looking like I just took a shower, and you're in jeans barely dripping, you must think you're better than me.

4. This was such a bad decision.

All I want is ice cream...but then my work out will count for nothing.

5. Hey, I was going to use that!

I had my eye on that machine and you stole it. Thanks dude.

6. Water, I need water!

My water bottle continuously gives me life at the gym, just like Barney and this baby.

7.Legs are sore and I just want food. *glares at boyfriend for dragging me to the gym*

Why would you betray me like this?

8.Oh, that's my song.

I may get a little too excited when a good song comes on!

9. That moment when you realize you should eat better...

Lay off the burgers and fries, honey. It's starting to show.

And lastly,

10. "This is satisfying" - me after a good workout

Almost as satisfying as watching all those surprise slaps Barney received.

So this concludes my first time at the gym as told by How I Met Your Mother. Just remember kids, nobody likes a long winded story with a really dissatisfying end. Make your own gym experiences legen...wait for it...dary.
