Road trips. Probably one of the most fun (or dreaded) experiences depending on how long, how many people in the car and who they are, what the weather is like, and yes- how the road is like. Here are some thoughts that every road tripper can relate to, and others that they should keep in mind.

1. When the traffic is terrible and you check Google Maps which tells you your estimated time of arrival just got delayed by one hour.

2. The Battle of the aux cord. Who gets to play music, what songs are being played, and how you must find the perfect station in every new state. Hey, we can't have it all!

3. You realize that it's supposed to be 95 degrees and the air conditioning isn't as reliable as you want it to be. Then again, if it's super cold, your heater isn't your best friend either. Maybe weather and road trips don't always go hand in hand!

4. BATHROOM BREAKS! See it doesn't matter if someone just went five minutes ago, or if the same person has to go again. Rest stops are needed (perfect time to reload on snacks)

5. Nap time. Sometimes you're going to want to get some shut eye but it may not be the easiest thing to do because you're on the go. Well, nobody said a fun time was going to be complete with hours of sleep.

6. Planning- let's be real, not everyone's going to have the same idea in mind and itineraries are a good way to go. It's okay if not everything goes to plan (sorry guys, I know this may not be the most favored opinion) but at least you have an idea on what to do!

7. Have a fun time. Whether it's talking, playing a game, dancing along, or just having a good time with family/friends, it's going to be an adventure to remember. Make the most of your time there!

8. "ARE WE THERE YET?"

Okay, road trips especially longer ones may not always be the most comfortable situations but everyone's putting in time and effort to make a great trip. Patience is virtue!

9. Google maps is life. Thank you GPS, for letting us get to every place we need with minor flaws because without you, we may end up in a different state.

So all in all, road trips have their own ups and downs, and if taken care right they can be a drive to remember. It's great flying somewhere or taking a train, but driving to your destination has a magic of its own. Here's to all the perks and lows of a road trip, and a reminded that it can be made one to remember!

Parks and Recreation excitedly gathered around a laptop at a table in an office setting.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

1. When you've finally found the energy to leave your dorm room and walk into the lib like

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
