Heading into the National Football League playoffs, my Super Bowl prediction is ... * pause for dramatic effect* ... for a third time, the New England Patriots vs. New York Giants. You may be asking yourself, why would I choose these teams? Well in 2012 and in 2008, New York had the fifth and fourth seeds in the playoffs. Now, they have the No. 5 seed locked down. Now, with that being said, and with two Super Bowls under their belt against New England, I project that New England will beat New York. It had to be said because in the two Super Bowls that they were competitors, New York has managed to upset New England. Now, it's New Englandās turn to get revenge on New York as we approach Super Bowl LI.
Back in 2007, New England went 16-0, meaning that in the regular season, they won all 16 games and they did not lose any games. They were the No. 1 seed in the American Football Conference and in the postseason, they won the divisional playoff game against Jacksonville Jaguars, and they won the AFC Championship game against the San Diego Chargers, making them 18-0. Then Super Bowl XLII happened on Feb. 3, 2008 and everything changed. In the end, New York won, with the final score of 17-14. It truly was a sad day for New England fans.
On Feb. 5, 2012, New England and New York were back at it again in Super Bowl XLVI. New York won that game as well, the final score reading 21-17. Now that it is 2017 and New England's quarterback Tom Brady is playing in the prime of his life, and New Yorkās defense is truly scary, it is highly possible that these two teams could make it into Super Bowl LI. I believe that the 2017 Super Bowl will be one to watch, especially considering it will be Tom Brady vs. Eli Manning, for the third time.
