Never-Trumpers are now taking actions into their own hands to boycott our president elect, refusing to buy products from companies with Trump ties. Since the election of Donald Trump, protesters have taken the streets, and social media to denounce their acceptance of a Trump Presidency. By #GrabYourWallet, protesters condemn what they believe matters the most to Donald J. Trump- his brand.

Shannon Coulter, a brand and digital strategist created the hashtag. She continually compiles a list of companies that sell Trump products, as well as companies that have ties with the Trump family. Compainies such as Lord and Taylor and Zappo's carry product lines that carry the Trump name. Protesters against Donald Trump are refusing to shop at these stores.

People are dropping their Amazon Prime memberships and taking their businesses to other companies that don’t sell Trump products. However, the majority of companies that carry Trump products are large department stores. A very small fraction of their products are ones that have Trump ties.

This campaign has gone so far that tenants of three separate apartment buildings on Manhattans Upper West Side have petitioned to have the Trump name taken down from the side of the building. According to NPR the petition read “’Trump’s appalling treatment of women, his history of racism, his attacks on immigrants, his mockery of the disabled, his tax avoidance, his outright lying- all are antithetical to the values we and families believe in’”. Not all tenants signed the petition because some supported the Trump campaign. However, if these petitioners were so offended by Trump’s name being on the side of their residence, why would they continue to live there?

#GrabYourWallet is a way for protesters to take the matter of the Trump presidency into their own hands. They believe that withholding their spending habits at these particular department stores will take a hit on what they believe matters most to Mr. Donald Trump, his wallet. Many companies have not given into the pressures from these boycotters, pulling Trump products from their shelves is not top priority from them.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
