Another week, another headline. ISIS has claimed responsibility for yet another terrorist attack; this time at a Catholic church located just north of Normandy, France. Rev. Jacques Hamel, 86, was killed when two men stormed the church in the northern region of Normandy, Dominique Lebrun, the Archbishop of Rouen, said in a statement found on the diocese website.
Five people were taken hostage and another person was critically injured while the two attackers forced Hamel to his knees before executing him at the alter in front of the congregation. Witnesses claim the men performed some sort of Arabic religious ceremony before slitting the priests throat on camera. CNN has confirmed that both of the attackers were killed by local police upon exiting the church.
When will this stop? Today's attack is the 11th by ISIS on French soil since the Paris attacks in January of 2015 and marks the latest chapter of what has been a dark 19 months for our French allies. And to think the term "ISIS" was not mentioned ONCE by any of the 61 speakers during the first day of the DNC. As Obama's "JV team" continues to grow stronger it appears the current Democratic administration has no permanent solution to the global infection ISIS has become.
Donald Trump and the GOP have made it clear that eradicating ISIS is of the utmost importance to our country's national security and, provided they take control of the executive branch this fall, will be one of the first tasks completed on their "Make America Great Again" to-do list. It seems only fitting that former president Harry S. Truman and Trump have such similar last names; for ISIS, a Trump administration most certainly means "The Buck Stops Here."
