To the girl who doesn't feel beautiful,
The first thing I want to tell you is I know what it feels like to have a bad day. One of those days when you wake up and your makeup doesn't go on quite right and you feel like an ogre because your eye lashes clumped together in some weird way. I know what it feels like to feel like you don't look good in anything and you can't put an outfit together to save your life, so you just put in sweatpants and pretend you don't care. I know what it feels like to be in a bad place, but I'm here to remind you that you are so far from ugly.
The way your eye lashes look is so unimportant at the end of the day. The fact you think your shirt shows that weird part of your stomach you don't like won't even be a second thought to you in 50 years. All these little things that seem like the end of the world right now aren't going to destroy your life. The part of you that should matter is your heart and your soul.
Now, I don't know why you feel this way. Maybe one time in the second grade someone called you fat or maybe your boyfriend makes it his mission to make you feel ugly everyday. Maybe you just think your friends or even your siblings are prettier than you. This is something you have to figure out personally, but your worth is more than how big your boobs are or how much you weigh. Your beauty is defined by how much you love others. Your beauty, as cliche as it sounds, comes from the inside. Everyone has things they don't like about themselves, but that's just because for some reason everyone wants to be the same. Being unique isn't a curse. Every freckle or scar on your body is there for a reason and is a beautiful part of you.
Just remember the next time your mom or your friends tell you you're beautiful don't brush it off because it's absolutely true. God created you in his image and that is a beautiful thing. So, smile and and spread love to everyone who has the pleasure to meet you. The impact you leave on this earth is worth more than whether or not your winged eyeliner is "on point."
It is so more important to be a beautiful person with a beautiful soul than to have a "perfect" body.
