10 Things I'd Like The Girl Who Dates My Younger Brother To Know

Hello,

Let me introduce myself. I'm the protective older sister of the boy are you dating. Now I know you may not think it by the looks of me but If you hurt my little brother I will find out and you will have to watch your back. So before you get too deep let me give you a few tips to help you.

1. He likes to irritate people. This here is a main point because he gets small joys out of irritating people. In a way that's his true nature of telling you he enjoys your company.

2. He thoroughly hates One Tree Hill. I know how could someone hate One Tree Hill? But he does and when you turn it on he will claim he has no idea what is going on but he does. I have made him watch it enough that he knows what happens and how it ends.

3. He is Spoiled. Yes, he knows how to do his own dishes and yes he can make is own plate. But he has never really had to anything because as previously stated my mom and I have babied him to no end and he has never really had to do much for himself when he has us around to do it for him.

4. He's a huge goofball. He likes to joke around and have a good time but he also can be so serious you don't know whether to laugh or cry. Don't take him too seriously I have learned that over the last few years.

5. His friends have been with him through A LOT. He and his friends have been through a lot so don't take offense if they give you a hard time they have his best interest at heart. They have seen him at his lowest point and they don't want to see him back there.

6. Our family is a package deal. I'm sorry but no matter the deal he isn't gonna leave us. Once he brings you to meet us we never leave.

7. Sometimes He is wrong. Believe me when I say we are probably gonna hear about that fight you had and we will be the first to tell him when he is wrong.

8. He has a big heart. If there were ever something to learn about him it would be that under his hard exterior is a huge heart that would anything for anyone. We were raised to give to others because we will never know when it could happen to us.

9. He is and probably will always be a Mamas Boy. There is no way around this one. He may complain about her but at the end of the day he wouldn't trade her for anything in the world.

10. He's very protective. I can't stress it enough he protects those in which he cares about . He will never admit it but is especially protective over his sisters. It doesn't matter how old I get he will probably always be my protector. So I know he will protect you the same.

These are things to remember because sometimes he is stubborn he gets it truly from our parents and that will never stop. I love him with all my heart but he will never admit when he is hurt or scared. He keeps up a wall at all times but if you give him enough time you will see the great man he is becoming and the inner kid he tries to hide. Be careful because he is my little brother and I will do anything to protect him.

Sincerely,

The protective older sister.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
