Life is the toughest game that we have to play. Our experiences, good and bad mold us and guide us forward. Sometimes, we get hurt a little too much and we get stuck in a funk.

Being in a funk is one of the worst feelings in the world. It feels like you will never get out of that moment. Its draining in every single way and it feels like you are stuck in this bubble of negativity. Its tough to train your mind to shut out the negativity, to work through the pain, and to most importantly let go, but boy is it worth it.

This funk, this phase, the negativity does not define you. Embrace the pain, work through the hurt, because at the end of the day, you will be better for it. Don't hide the realness of your pain, don't bury your hurt. You can only let go if you are willing to work through the hardest moments of your life. You may have to let yourself crumble to pieces before you pick yourself up again. But any version of yourself that is built with the strength it takes to move past your hardest moments, will without a doubt be the absolute best version of yourself.

Theres a very fine line between embracing the pain and letting it consume you. If you're having a hard time letting go you make have crossed that line but if you want to be you again, if you want to be a better you, you have to find your reason to drag yourself out of the hole.

I promise your future will be much better than your past. I promise you will see better days. This is not permanent, your funk, your pain, your sorrow is only temporary. Your past did not, has not, and will not ever define you.

Remind yourself of all the things you have to look forward to. Remind yourself of the things that make you happy. Remind yourself of all the things you can not wait to accomplish. Don't miss out on all the beauty your future holds because you have chained yourself to your past. Cut the ties and let yourself breathe.

Everyday, no matter how hard it is, remember to love yourself. Surround yourself with light and never darkness. Say goodbye to those who refuse to let you rise. Rediscover yourself. Reinvent yourself. Because even if you are lost, you are not gone. Your heart will always represent you and once you stop carrying all the weight of your past on your shoulders, you will set your wings free and you will be able to fly.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
