The Future of "Westworld"

Season Two is far away but I want it now!

Season One of one of the most talked about television shows in recent history, Westworld, ended the other night. If you are like me and have watched the entire show from the start then you must be thinking the same as me…What’s next? What will Season two bring us? I have a couple of theories, *If you haven't watched don't read on, Spoilers ahead*

1. “Samurai World”

An important part of the show that we learned in the season finale was that “Westworld” isn't the only world. When Maeve and Felix enter a door to escape the guards that are after Maeve they walk into a new part of the park, “Samurai World.” Not the park its self but they entered the area where the ‘Hosts’ train to become ‘Hosts.’ Maeve turns to Felix and says “What is this?” Felix’s response was “Its complicated.” That is all we know of this world right now. Could Season two turn the show into an ‘Anthology’ and change the story every season. It could definitely be an option after such successful runs as “American Horror Story” and the new “American Crime Story.” If there is a Samurai themed park there must be more, right? Maybe a Medieval World or an Egyptian World, maybe even a Space themed world. This story could even then start to incorporate the other seasons and show every ‘Host’ from every world turns on humanity and destroys everyone! Who knows, I think a Medieval World would be lit.

2. “28 Days Later” Vibe

The season one finale left us watching Ford’s assassination/suicide as a new narrative was about to roll out and the Man in Black was watching a load of ‘Hosts’ emerge from bushes away from the dinner going on. One shot him. Normally a ‘Host’ cant hurt a person, but this shot drew blood from the Man in Black. He finally got his wish of putting the game in extreme mode. All Season He's been waiting for the game to end and for the real adventure to begin. Now that ‘Host’ can harm humans it changes the complete dynamic of who is anchorage of who. I picture Season two opening up seeing the park in shambles, ‘Hosts’ running around doing what they want to becasue they now have the ability to remember and are smarter then ever. I can see the ‘Hosts’ turn into real savages with the killing. It would be a bloodbath of a season but I don't really think a story would evolve much from that one.

3. “Continuation”

No jump in time, No different characters. The season two premier might just open up right where we left off. Ford dying, the ‘Hosts’ creeping in, and the Man in Black realizing the challenge has only just began. Maeve didn’t leave “Westworld” exactly. She was still in the building when we left. Will she blend in among the humans? Will she go back to the army she created? Time will tell.

4. “A new start”

Maybe the next season will concentrate on a couple of people that enter the park for the first time like William. It will show how the park affects them and what impression it left on them. I think it would be kind of cool if the people they follow are in the park when the revolt starts and what happened to everyone that wasn't at the narrative opening party.

Clearly there are lot of holes in some of my theories. But there are a lot of holes in the show that we are still waiting on the answers for. Like did Arnold and Ford create the other worlds? Whats going on in the other worlds? Are the ‘Hosts’ going to take over the world? We’ll have to wait till next fall when seasons two premiers.

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
