The Friends in College that you Meet are Unlike Anything

Leaving High school, I was so worried because I did not want to leave the friends I had been with for most of my life. I could not bear to leave all of my friends, most of which were going to another college, and moving on to a new start. Little did I know that, I had nothing to worry about

The Friends in College that you Meet are Unlike Anything

Coming into College, I had my close high school friends with me and I was so excited, but I was nervous after sorority rush we would not be as close. To this day they are still all my best friends, but I have met new and lifelong friends that I honestly do not know how I managed life before without them. You see, college friends are different because you do not get pushed into being friends with them In an atmosphere like high school. In, high school you learn to become friends with the group you grow up with, but in college it is a totally different ballgame. Thanks to my sorority, I have met friends that I genuinely love because they are as goofy, weird, and always down to get deep with me. We do not get sick of each other, which is so different for me because with my personality, I usually get very tired of people after hanging out with them for a long period. They will always be down to go to cookout with me at 12 a.m. while belting anything from Lemonade Mouth to Lauren Daigle. We go from crying laughing about weird stories from our most embarrassing moments to crying about what we are going through at the moment. This is just something that is so new to me that I am constantly overwhelmed with joy. With living in a dorm, you become best friends with all the people on your floor because they become like a family to you. I can go over to my neighbors room at 3 a.m. and know without a doubt that they will watch Disney Plus with me. It's the little things that make college friendships so unique. I know without a doubt in my mind that the girls I have met so far throughout my college experience that these girls will be my lifelong friends and my bridesmaids one day.

I know this post is so sappy and sentimental, which is very unlike me, but every word is honestly just so true. I hope every senior that is scared to move on from their highs cool best friends to read this and to know that I promise you will not lose that friendship with them, but you will find a new and different kind of friendship that is so much more meaningful. So please do not be scared to start a new life in college because it is one of the best things that has happened to me, and I can not wait for everyone to experience this.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
