Boston is an old city (at least for the US), but it's a beautiful city filled with rich history and culture. However its history is brutal. The Native Americans who lived there before were wiped out by disease brought by the European settlers (Brooks). And most famously, Boston is considered to be the heart of the American Revolution (Brooks).
Because of its central location in the American Revolution, Boston has many places that are enriched in its history. The Freedom Trail is the path that can take you across the city to see the locations where significant Revolutionary War events have taken place.
This is the Boston Massacre site.
The Freedom Trail is two and half miles long and includes 16 sites. You can go on a tour or walk the path yourself. The cool part of it is the brick path that physically marks the trail in the city. Which was definitely convenient for me, a directionally challenged person.
Over the summer, I was finally able to go on the freedom trail. It was amazing. The history of the city was everywhere. Seeing everything in person was definitely an experience. I could appreciate the sites more because I was there. Though I wasn't able to complete the whole trail, I was able to see 11 of the sites! It was definitely something I would recommend everyone to go on!
