1. The commute is just so annoying. Ugh.
Whether you are traveling from Jersey, Connecticut or 10 blocks away, subways, trains and buses are no fun, especially in the summer.
2. They tell you to take lunch, but you still feel weird leaving the office and always wind up rushing back in case they need you.
You don't want to seem like you don't want to work, but you also don't want to be behind a desk all day. Dilemmas, dilemmas.
3. Basically New York is the new college campus - everyone you know from school is somehow there.
This can be great for seeing your friends and bad for seeing some people you wish you didn't have to.
4. Work is actually just as tiring as school, even though there is no homework.
Sure, you're off the job once you get home but by the time you get home you can't even move.
5. Nothing from your textbook has been used once so far.
The most important things you've learned in school: social skills, time management and being confident in your abilities are what matter in the real world, not Newton's Laws of Motion (at least not for me!).
