Things are certainly going to be different now that we have a new president. It certainly goes without saying that there are a lot of people who would rather have some other person or thing as president. That's right, thing! Instead of worrying about what this new presidential regime will do I figured, why not pick five fictional characters that would be interesting presidents?

1. Captain America

How dope of a president would Captain America be? The man is so damn honest and selfless which would make him a fine president! Even though the comics dealt with this idea of Cap becoming president, which did not pan out because of some personal reasons Cap stated, I do think he would be pretty great. He would never put us in harm's way and if enemies attacked, he would literally attack them back since he is a superhero. Even better, Captain America doesn't really fall under any party's viewpoints per se so we would finally stop ripping on people who aren't part of the same political party.

2. Michael Scott

I never said who would be the best president, but the most interesting president! Michael Scott would be a pretty interesting president. Given his work ethics (he has none) I'd assume he'd just do nothing and leave the job to other people, but your never gonna know if Michael is going to spontaneously start a "Who Dunnit" mystery game with other countries or film another Threat Level Midnight movie with them. I guess we'd all like to think that he would be pretty fun, but I guess in reality we would get taken over or nuked immediately either because of something Michael has said or because he straight up didn't want to do his job.

3. The Brain from "Pinky and the Brain"

The Brain has always tried to take over the world, but being president of a nation would surely be welcome too, besides its one step closer to taking over the world anyway! Though only a mouse, The Brain has proven himself a genius all throughout "Pinky and the Brain" and "Animaniacs" even though his plans have never actually worked. Would he be too radical or evil? Honestly, I don't think so. The Brain never explicitly said he would be evil when taking over the world. He very well could be the greatest president ever and we just don't know it! I guess its best not to think too hard on this, after all, I really don't think The Brain even knows what he would do if he ever took over the world or at the very least became president!

4. Yoda

Even though I totally ripped on Yoda in another article and called him a dumbass, I think Yoda would be a good president as long as he doesn't do any of the stupid things that he did in the prequels. Original trilogy Yoda talking about the force and finding strength from within yourself is the guy- um creature, that we need! He wouldn't get us into any wars and would honestly be the most zen president that we could ever get. C'mon, whose more zen than Yoda?

5. Shrek

Okay, you had to have known I was gonna through Shrek in here somewhere! Why? Because Shrek is love, Shrek is life! Oh, and because he actually does have plans for the country if he were president. Don't believe me? Go on Facebook right now, type in "Shrek For President" and you'll see. The official Shrek social media pages actually did a social media campaign that had Shrek run for president of Far Far Away against Prince Charming. Shrek is suppose to represent Hilary Clinton and Prince Charming is suppose to represent Donald Trump in the posts. Seriously go look this up!

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
