We all know how the first week of classes goes. Luckily, the first week of classes is supposed to be the easy and fun one. Although, it does not always feel that way. Sometimes the week is filled with excruciatingly long classes that you drop mid-class. Syllabus week is supposed to be fun and easy, but when you all of a sudden find yourself in the midst of a 2-hour lecture, all of your patience flies straight out of the window. Dropping a class during the class has such a satisfying feeling to it too.

Luckily, it seems that the creators of Spongebob Squarepants know this and have secretly been on our side the whole time. I mean, they totally created these historical landmark moments specifically for us as children and for us to continue to reference up until we became college students.

So here you have it folks, here is an accurate depiction of your first week of classes, as told by Spongebob Squarepants.

1. Monday morning - sleeping through your alarm (no matter how many you set and how hard you try to wake up)

You best believe my goddess of a roommate woke me up for class on Monday morning even though I set 12 alarms for myself all on the highest volume.

2. Monday morning (continued) - going to your first class with your best buddy

Matching t-shirts is a plus. Especially if this includes a matching t-shirt with your professor too. (I know from experience.)

3. Monday afternoon - after going to all of your classes and realizing how many assignments you have

Class only meets once a week, but you get 7 assignments per week?!!? #Drop

4. Wednesday - when you realize you are already falling behind on the simple assignments and you desperately need to get it together

I mean.... How far away is the new semester so we can start all over and pretend this never happened?

5. Thursday - when all of a sudden the week was the easiest week of your life, yet simultaneously the hardest somehow

and all of a sudden...

# Relatable. (This is honestly me every day though...)

6. Friday night - when you realize you made it through the rain, and can officially tackle this semester head on

Bring it on, school! We can handle this one.

Can't relate?!

Yeah. Same, honestly.

And there you have it, folks. A regular first week of classes as told by Spongebob Squarepants, the show that practically narrated our childhood and now is doing the same with our adult life. And so, here is to a successful school year, with the least amount of schedule changes possible, as to avoid unnecessary assignments.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
