The First School Week of Freshman Year

As told by Bob's Burgers

The First School Week of Freshman Year

It is that time of year again! The children have been freed from their highschool bonds and are adventuring out into college. If you are one of these people I am so excited for you. This is a brand new chapter of your life and full of new experiences. So in honor of all the experience you are likely to face I am going to go through the 7 days with depictions from bobs burgers.

Let us begin!

Day one: Monday the first day of school.

If you are like most freshman then it is a strong possibility that you will have a oddly timed class. You might try to get out of it but you might have to go to extremes.

Hopefully you’ll spend this day reveling in the freedom of college classes. You might even feel like a new person

Day two: Tuesday, A second first day.

The cool thing about college is that you get two first days as you’ll have Monday-Wednesday-Friday classes and Tuesday-Thursday classes. If you’re outgoing this is awesome, if you’re not then you might be a little upset.

Don’t worry though you’ll get used to it eventually.

Day three: Wednesday or what I like to call HUMP DAY!

This is going to be one of the more boring days f your teacher is still going over the syllabus, or it will be a day jam packed as your professors try to fit as much new info as possible. You might enjoy this. More likely it’ll drag on.

No matter how long the day feels this is one of the best days for you to make friends. You’ll find your place to sit and you can start scouting who is going to be your person in each class.

Day four: Thursday

Unlike the previous days you are probably getting a little tired of being perky and alert. It is likely that this day will be spent trying to avoid nodding off in class or checking your phone. Resist because this is a good day to learn how college classes work. Take time to think about the best way to take notes for the classes you have. You should get an idea on what the teachers style is going to be for the next few weeks. Also consider taking time to write down all of the dates in your syllabus from the week in your agenda or planner. It is a major time saver. If you don’t get ahead now it can be easy to fall behind.

Day five: Friday

This is probably the best and worst day of the week because you finally are done having to sit with classes but you also now have to figure out what your going to spend your weekend doing. For some this can be the hardest part of the week. Just stay positive and when opportunity presents itself take it.

Try spending the weekend getting to know your neighbors and exploring the campus. There are plenty of opportunities to do things and get to know more people. Or you could spend the entire weekend watching Netflix and eating ice cream. Both are good in my opinion.

Just remember that everyone you are going to college with has had a first week of some sort so just enjoy the last first week of your freshman year that you will ever have. So prepare yourself and get ready for an awesome second week.

Good luck

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
