Kanye West, a rapper and a producer, had influenced the crowd with his famous Saint Pablo tour which initially started this past August. He had the rest of his famous Saint Pablo tour left that to which he ended up canceling very recently. His fans were shocked and astounded by this abrupt action that made some people wonder, what exactly made him do it?
Kanye West was following through his tour dates, however, when the incident with Kim Kardashian West being robbed at gunpoint in Paris took place, he put an end to a performance, frantically leaving the stage to accompany his traumatized wife.
Many believe it happened due to the rant that was given supposedly over Facebook, Jay Z and Hillary Clinton. He attended the show in Oakland, giving a politics lesson that was disapproved by many through the social media.“We were brought over here as slaves, and Lincoln turned us into unpaid interns." This created some tension with himself and the audience but it was not enough to prepare for what was coming up next.
This past Thursday he ended up giving what was called a “25 minute long” rant at the concert in San Jose, California which he stated, “If I would have voted, I would have voted for Trump”. The one sentence hung in the air as the audience grasped what he was saying to which they responded by being infuriated with his comment and throwing objects on stage.
With the dissatisfaction of the results from many people, they were not pleased to hear that one of their favorite artists was advocating what was called an “antihero” according to the Huffington Post. The audience still received refunds due to the show being cut short suddenly, leaving the fans to wonder what his intention was of giving that speech. He revealed that he wanted to say how he felt and was an advocate of changing how things are.
Everyone felt distraught and disappointed at his actions throughout the recent concerts. “I spent $250. I may be a fan of his music but I’m not a fan of his character.” One person said after the 30 minute Sacramento show. Even with the disapproval and distraught in the air, he decided to leave with the comment “Get ready to have a field day, press, get ready, get ready, because the show’s over.” Some still believe it was a publicity stunt while others still believe it was due to his political outburst that captured the audience’s disbelief and shock.
There has not been a specific reason that was stated as to why the remaining shows of the Saint Pablo tour have been canceled.
