With the news that Ted Cruz and John Kasich have dropped out of the 2016 presidential election, the people are scrambling. Clinton and Sanders are still neck and neck. However, the ending face-off is looking to be Trump versus Clinton. We all know this election just got uglier. As Sanders is being swept under the rug and Clinton is taking all the action, it looks like Clinton will be taking it all for the Democrats. Now for Trump: all he needs to be worried about is eliminating Mrs. Clinton from the picture. Here is what it looks like in detail on the plans Clinton and Trump want for our country.

Background

Hillary Clinton: Clinton is former secretary of state for the United States and with a large political background. Clinton has served as an elected official for a total of 8 years. Before she was secretary of state, she was the First Lady to Bill Clinton. Hillary was an assistant professor at the University of Arkansas Law School and was once an Attorney at Rose Law firm. She attended Yale University and Wellesley College.

Donald Trump: Trump has never held elected office. However, he is a renowned businessman. He is the founder and president of The Trump Organization and also has a large role in reality television. He once owned the Miss USA organization, then later sold it before running for office. Trump is also the chairman or Trump Hotel and Casino Resort. He attended Fordham University and the University of Pennsylvania.

International Affairs and Defense

Hillary Clinton: Now, Hillary, being more liberal, disagrees on a range of international and defensive issues. She does not support the expansion of free trade and the military. She also does not support American exceptionalism.

Donald Trump: Trump also disagrees on the topic of free trade but strongly agrees on expanding the military. Trump also agrees on avoiding foreign entanglements and supports American exceptionalism.

Domestic Affairs

Hillary Clinton: Clinton wants to put higher taxes on the wealthy and does not want to privatize Social Security. She also supports ways for illegals to gain citizenship and believes a stimulus is better than a market-led recovery for the economy.

Donald Trump: Trump does not believe the use of a stimulus is better than a market-led recovery for the economy but somewhat supports raising taxes on the wealthy, He also approves privatizing Social Security but does not support citizenship for illegals.

Therefore, with these few details on the candidates, it is up to us, the people, to vote for our president. Keeping in mind Bernie is still in the race, do not count him out. Even though the current assumptions conclude that it will be Trump and Clinton, Sanders has not given up yet. So let's face it, the 2016 presidential election is doomed. Even if Sanders were to beat Clinton, no one knows if he would be able to do well against Trump. All in all, let’s hope our founding fathers can help us from up there.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
