I stood atop a dune
and I looked out across the cresting wave
The storm would be here soon
The wind picked up
Whistling round and round
The sky opened up
I retreat
back into my home
My God to entreat
The water rose
I watched from my window
Wishing I could just doze
Suddenly I was there
up in they sky
Looking down from my vantage point in the air
I see the swirl
I hear their cries
Above the whirl
Then I'm back,
back in my shoes
Looking up, the sky is black
The wind howls
The rain pours
It shakes me to my bowels
I hope I see tomorrow
I hope my loved ones are safe
I hope I see tomorrow
